About this tour
Most Blue Mountains tours are over by mid-afternoon. This one is just getting started.
Your private guide collects you from your Sydney hotel and heads west into the mountains, timing the day so the best is saved for last. The Three Sisters at Echo Point come first, followed by the thundering drop of Katoomba Falls deep in the Jamison Valley. From there the tour descends into the Megalong Valley for lunch at the historic Tea Rooms — open since 1956, set beneath towering sandstone cliffs, and famous for scones, apple pie and produce from the farm next door.
The afternoon moves north to Blackheath, where Govett's Leap and Anvil Rock look out over the ancient Grose Valley. Then west to Mount Victoria, and the final stop of the day: Sunset Rock.
Tucked away on the western escarpment above the Kanimbla Valley, Sunset Rock is one of the quietest and most spectacular places in the Blue Mountains. No tour buses. No crowds. Just open sky, the valley falling away below, and the light changing by the minute. Snacks and drinks are included while you watch the sun go down.
Pickup time is confirmed at booking and moves with the season — around 11:00am in winter, 2:30pm in summer — so you always arrive at the rock with time to settle in before the sky turns.

What time does the tour start?
Pickup time varies by season so you arrive at Sunset Rock in time for the sunset. Your exact pickup time is confirmed at booking — it ranges from around 11:00 AM in winter to 2:30 PM in summer.
What happens if the sky is cloudy at sunset?
The Blue Mountains are spectacular in any light, and Sunset Rock is worth the visit regardless. In the rare event of extreme weather we will adapt the itinerary on the day. Tour cancellations due to weather receive a full refund.
Is lunch included?
Lunch is not included — we recommend the Megalong Valley Tea Rooms for bookings in the April to September period when the earlier departure allows time before they close at 3pm. For summer departures we will suggest a suitable alternative.
What snacks and drinks are provided at Sunset Rock?
A selection of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are included. If you would like to bring your own wine or champagne for the sunset, you are welcome to do so.
Where does pickup happen?
Door-to-door from Sydney city hotels and most metropolitan accommodation. Pickup from other areas can usually be arranged — please ask at booking.
